ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The All Cherry Hill Middle School Band and Orchestra is made up of students from all 3 middle schools who are interested in enhancing their musical experience through extra performing opportunities. Students are accepted by application and recommendation by their respective directors. Acceptance is based on advanced placement in S.O.E. or E.E. Book 2, ability level, and participation in the individual's school band or orchestra program. While private lessons are helpful and often recommended, they are not required. A desire to advance your skills and a commitment to practice and attend the limited amount of rehearsals is all that is required once accepted. The band and orchestra rehearse a limited number of times, thus prepartion between meetings is essential to the success of the organization.
The most important goal of the directors of these groups is to offer an experience that is not only challenging, but enjoyable and fulfilling - an experience that will hopefully filter back into their participation in the school programs and beyond.
WHAT TO WEAR TO CONCERT:
Your school music shirt and dark blue or black pants or skirt
**We will be in need of desserts only for the dress rehearsal dinner. Dinner will be provided by the middle school principals.
We will also need at least two parents from each school to help set up and clean up after dinner on March 10th.

CONCERT
March 11th
Membership requirements:
Major scales including C and up to 2 sharps and flats
Must be at least half way through Book 2 of the school-used music series
Comfortable reading complex meters such as 6/8 and cut time (2/2)
Familiar with full range of instrument:
*Woodwinds - 2 octaves
*Strings - 1st position required, 3rd and 5th helpful
*Percussion - long rolls, 5, 9 and 17-stroke rolls, flams, paradiddles, drag
